The Terminator
Co-written and directed by James Cameron, The
Terminator offers a worst case scenario for the future of
humanity, which makes for addictive viewing. It is imaginative,
well thought out and brilliantly executed. The Terminator
series stretched old and newly innovated special effects and
computer generated graphics to weave seamlessly with location
shot action and created a new genre of anti-hero action films.
Arnold Schwarzenegger as the terminator cyborg is now an iconic
image and one of Science fictions greatest creations.
The story has now moved to television in the
Sarah Connor Chronicles with the lovely Summer Glau the new
human face of the terminator cyborg, and she is stunningly
good at it, playing the cyborg character Cameron with dead-pan
brilliance and challenging the viewer to accept a very pretty,
sexy woman as the programmed killer. I am a massive fan of
the whole terminator concept and the new perspective of Sarah
on the run with her son John Conner, who is to become the
saviour of mankind with his lovely cyborg protector, is equally
as brilliant as the linear big screen series of films...
And now Terminator Salvation the new Terminator
film to be released in the UK in June. The new Terminator
movie stars Christian Bale and a review will appear here soon...
