Sigourney Weaver
Before Ridley Scott's Alien, Sigourney Weaver
had appeared in Woody Allen's Annie Hall, but Sigourney's
big break was, without doubt, Alien. What a start to a career.
Your first big break in an absolute classic! Sigourney Weaver
has played the character, Ellen Ripley, in three follow up
films, each one a movie gem.
But, after Alien, Sigourney Weaver has gone
on to show what a very fine actress she is. The Year Of Living
Dangerously with Mel Gibson, Ghostbusters I & II, the
superb Gorillas In The Mist where she played Diane Fossey,
one of my favourites Working Girl, where she brilliantly portrayed
the manipulative and dishonest boss of Melanie Griffith and
the vexed fiancee of Harrison Ford - there's that great scene
where Sigourney Weaver storms through a building on crutches
with one leg in plaster like the crazed cartoon of Cruella
Devile... And I have to mention the seriously good film, Copycat,
where Sigourney Weaver plays a agoraphobic criminal psychologist.
In recent years Sigourney doesn't seem to stop working and
I look forward to the next classic from Sigourney Weaver's
ever-stretching creative talent...

Raw Nerve
The novel they considered too controversial!
The black Governor of Georgia, Janice Mathias, is the leading contender in the race for the White House! The Ku Klux Klan plot an assination and much, much worse!
Gideon is the man who makes the difference when he tears the dark veil from the face of white supremacy!
The novel by Tim Rees, Raw Nerve, is now available on Kindle.
Recommended reading for everyone who loves a great thriller!
For a little over $5, which is £3 something, Raw Nerve is a serious page turner! |
