Quentin Tarantino

Reservoir Dogs, made in1992, Pulp Fiction, made in 1994, Jackie Brown, made in 1997, Kill Bill Vol. 1, made in 2003 and Vol. 2, made in 2004. All classics and were immediately so, and all penned by Tarantino as well. Quentin Tarantino is, in my opinion, the most innovative and extraordinarily talented film maker of the modern era. Death Proof, made in 2007, is yet to have the impact of previous Tarantino films, but Inglorious Basterds starring Brad Pitt is another Quentin Tarantino classic...

Quentin Tarantino also penned the original script of Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers and the film True Romance...

In my opinion Quentin Tarantino is one of Hollywood's greatest film makers after writing and directing Hollywood blockbusters such as Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill and Jackie Brown. Quentin Tarantino's film making style is unique and it sets Tarantino on a pedastal of creative genius all on his own. Like the Hitchcock signature spelled suspense, the Tarantino signature spells violence, but like Hitchcock, it is Tarantino's superb characterisations and brilliant writing that glue the audience eyes to the screen. Quentin Tarantino is truly a genuine, great artist who quite simply has chosen film as his canvas...

The Hollywood Movie History

The greats of the silent movie period included Rudolf Valentino, Mary Pickford, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Laurel & Hardy and a whole host of stars whose talents live on in the many characters they portrayed. Jean Harlow is perhaps the most successful of the stars who began their career in the silent era and whose star continued in ascendancy into the talkies. The western film genre has been the birth place for many great film stars, not least of which is the Great John Wayne. Blockbuster movies dominated the 80's and 90's with Silvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis competing for the title greatest action hero of them all... and then Matt Damon brought Ludlum's character Jason Bourne to life all too vividly and a whole new action hero was born.
And, although great women's roles are still all to rare, Vivien Leigh's Scarlet O'Hara in Gone With The Wind, Marilyn Monroe's Sugar Kane in Some Like It Hot, Grace Kelly as Tracy Lord in High Society, Michelle Pfeifer in the Baker Boys and Julie Roberts in Erin Brockovich are just a few great and memorable perfomances I have experience by women in the movies...
