Meryl Streep
I adored the film Kramer Vs Kramer. Great writing
brought to too real life by awesome performances. For me Kramer
Vs Kramer is the perfect example of what great storytelling is all
about. It involved the audience and the audience had an experience.
It was a deeply moving film and the audience left the cinema
with hearts torn and minds full of questions. Meryl Streep
and Dustin Hoffman were both outstanding, but Meryl Streep
had the tough role. She left her child and I wanted to hate
her and I did, at first... I was 100% on Dustin's character's
side, yet Meryl Streep's character begins to draw you in and
I ended up empathising with her, which, in my view, was acting
at its absolute finest...
But, I must not get carried away and tallk only
of Kramer Vs Kramer and forget Meryl Streep's many, many other
achievements. The Deer Hunter, for instance, with Robert De
Niro, The French Lieutenant's Woman, Silkwood, Out Of Africa,
Postcards From The Edge, Death Becomes Her, where Meryl Streep
shows off her comic side with Goldie Hawn and Bruce Willis,
The Bridges Of Madison County... The list of accolades just
go on and on and Meryl Streep's career is copiously decorated
with awards that include 14 Oscar nominations and she is one
of a very few actors to have won all four major screen awards:
Oscars, Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild, and BAFTA awards.
In 2008 Mamma Mia launched upon the world. It
is the most successful Hollywood film musical of all time. Thenm in 2011 Meryl played Margret Thatcher in the Iron Lady and more Oscar nominations followed... What next?
Meryl Streep is simply fantastic and her star continues to
shine more brightly as it ascends ever higher... Meryl Streep:
a genuine Hollywood great...
